Missing False Tail

Lastly, a message from Julie Anne Archer.  A black false tail was lost at the
Interschools event at CRC.  Someone picked it up but it hasnt surfaced.  They
would really appreciate the tail to be returned as the rider saved up for it and
is devastated at losing it.  Please contact Julie at julieanne.archer@deewr.gov.au
if you know of its whereabouts - no questions asked, just desperate to get the
tail back.

Thankyou for State Equitation.

Anne Field, Bungendore, Wednesday, 19 November 2008

Thankyou for State Equitation.
A huge thank you to everyone that contributed in making State Equitation a success!

I recieved many comments on Sunday afternoon in particular as people were leaving as
to what a great event it was and that really boils down to all the effort the zone members
went to.

BPC Christmas Rally Trail Ride

Anne Field, Bungendore, Wednesday, 19 November 2008

BPC Christmas Rally Trail Ride

We are very fortunate to have been invited by the Davy and Robinson families

to hold our Christmas rally day at "The Gib", giving us the opportunity to go
on a beautiful trail ride, followed by lunch, the Annual General Meeting, and of course
the Presentation of Awards.
We will be needing some adult riders to accompany the
children on the trail ride.
The main ride will be approximately 12 km in a circular route,
(with the possibility of a 4 km ride for younger or totally unfit ponies and riders).
Ideally we will split up into groups of six children with two adults per group,
 and these
groups will set off at intervals, mostly at walk and trot.

PLEASE COULD YOU LET ME KNOW:
(A) THE NAMES OF CHILDREN WHO WILL BE ON THE RIDE;
and
(B) IF YOU ARE ABLE TO BE AN ADULT GROUP LEADER -
please note that for insurance purposes you will have to be a RIDING MEMBER of PCANSW.
Current non-riding members can "upgrade" by paying $15, which we will forward to the State

Office to pay for your insurance.
Also, don't forget, we are looking for some new faces on the committee for next year.
If you would like to discuss where your skills or interests might best fit, or want to know what

a committee position involves, please contact  any member of the 2008 committee.

Horse Wanted!

Edwina Biro, Sunday, 9 November 2008

Hi all

Just thought that word of mouth might work for me.  I need a horse for James.  He has a paddock full of geriatric lame ducks and he wants to ride lots.  For those who may be unfamiliar with him...he is quite confident on his own horse but very cautious on a new one.  He is jumping 70cm in the paddock but graded E (thinks he can jump A)!  He basically rides with little or no contact and likes the horse to read his mind.  He tends to take his pony into the dam and use her as a diving board or swims beneath her.  He will spend time learning a dressage test and expects that the horse will memorize it as well, if that doesnt happen there's always the jumping.  Dressage doesnt matter anyway.  He doesnt like horses that stop at fences as he prefers to keep his jewels intact and isn't keen on giving it another go.  If the horse jumps however, it must be happy to do so with no guidance or contact whatsoever, as James likes to fly.  He has brilliant balance but doesnt waste his time on trivial things like position.  He truly loves his horses and is very keen at the moment.  I don't want to waste that.  He is booked into have some intensive lessons and then down to Mirrabooka with Judy Fashers group.  He has ridden some very well educated horses and that seems to improve his riding....he is flexible and can adjust his riding to the horse's experience, just as long as he can chuck a saddle on at a moments notice and take off with his mates.

I am looking for a 14hh to 15.2 allrounder that is easy to make go, easy to stop, easy to catch, jumps, sports, floats, enjoys boys, water, trail riding, sleeping with a human, getting dressed up, leap frogging on from behind, side, sliding down neck, crawling underneath...........................................................................................................

Seriously though, any or all of these things would be considered. James does have a reasonable amound of sense and ability, these are just a few of the things his horses have had to go through........

Oh and I don't have much money!

A lease would be great as he has big horses to on to in a while.

Results - State Mounted Games - Tumbarumba

Leslie Bennet, Bungendore, Thursday, 9 October 2008

State Mounted Games – Everyone that I have spoken to says that State Mounted Games held at Tumburumba last weekend was really great, even despite the rain on Saturday night.  BPC had several team members competing in what was a very successful weekend for Zone 16 with 5 out of the top 7 teams from our zone.  We had the Bungendore Benchwarmers with Laura Pearce, Laura Field, Danielle Gilbert and Kristina Tamsitt who achieved a 2nd and a 4th and came 11th overall.  A special mention goes to Kristina on her Mounted games horse(?) Bob who is over 16 hands and did a great job and to Missy who was pulled out of the paddock the night before the competition after a long break and didn’t miss a beat all weekend with Danielle Gilbert on board.  We also had several team members in the Associates Plan B team (what was plan A) in Brett Davies, Pete Nicholson and Bill Noble who came 3rd overall and Siobhan Fisher and Dom Gilbert in the Zone 16 Royals who also competed very well.

Last but not least is an excerpt from the Bungendore Bandits -

Bungendore Bandits – Myf and Adele Clarke, Emma Lewis and Andrew and Tom Thorek- travelled to State MG with little hope of making a final, happy to place in top 10. They surprised everyone and mostly themselves by coming home as State Champions for Tack Shop and Five Flag which was a fantastic

1.   STATE EQUITATION

Please let Di know how you can help - it is important that our zone shows it can run a good event. If your child is not riding then you might also like to come and help without the stress of helping them prepare!

Marion Whalan, Monday, 22 September 2008

All clubs in Zone 16 are expected to assist with the hosting of the PCA NSW Equitation Championships. To assist clubs get organised, the club roster is out now...

As you know we (Zone 16) are to host the 2008 state equitation championships at EPIC on October 31st and November 1st and 2nd.   We need lots of help over the 1st and 2nd especially and the 31st to set up courses.

Following is a list of jobs that we have to have persons in over that weekend.

Saturday and Sunday we need the following:

5 gear checkers (both days)

8 pencillers (both days)

5 people to help with the scoring

4 ring stewards (both days)

4 pole picker uppers (one for each ring both days)

Friday we will need lots of help to put up bunting in the morning and then to help John Valance (course builder) to erect courses in the afternoon from approximately 12 midday onwards.

The canteen will be organized by Kim Hammond and the following will be the club roster.   Canteen will start from lunchtime Friday, and we need a couple of volunteers for the Friday. There will also be a drink and ice-cream van that will be done by the clubs in their rostered time.  The club roster which we are putting out early, so clubs can organize persons to come and help for the weekend, is as follows:

Saturday:       11:00 to 1:00 Bungendore, Burra, Queanbeyan

Sunday:         1:00 to 3:00   Bungendore,  Queanbeyan

Please remember that this event is a state event hosted by OUR ZONE so we need the co-operation of all clubs to make the event run smoothly and to be a success.  So please help where you can if everyone puts in a few hours a few won’t have to try and do the lot.

Chris McIntosh is in charge of the allocation of stables.

If you are available for any of the jobs above please email or ring me DI on 48427265 or email diandgav_cullen@yahoo.com.au as soon as possible so we can make a full roster and know the numbers we have to work with.

Thanks
